we decided to change the flights a bit and go to spain a bit earlier to catch up with the newly-weds. it was a great day that started by driving through the mountains in alberts mazda mx5, then we all had a look at an old maintain village, headed to the beach for a swim and ended up with dinner at the beach. all in all a great day and well worth the extra flights. thanks albert and oxana ! albert and oxana the mx5 a little stall at the old village full dams lone tree on a hilltop
on friday we went to see my cousin in delft. she works for the techinical university there and took us for a small tour of the faculty of aerospace engineering with the research flight simulator and the satelite construction area. after that we had dinner in town. flight simulator TU Delft de waag delft delft
today we took a drive to the north of holland to the province of friesland. the first thing that i noticed is that there are wind turbines everywhere over here ! as far as the eye can see, no matter where you are there are wind turbines.. and they look good !! they will start building wind parks offshore in the ocean soon as well. wind turbines everywhere heeg, friesland
just picked up the car for the week (a ford ka) in utrecht and we went on a little drive through the country. the weather has been great sofar. some rain every now and again, but just like melbourne : ‘if you don’t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes and it will change’ oudegracht in utrecht culemborg culemborg windfarm train over the river lek
inge is over here for the world championships swimming and before it starts is doing a bit of traveling around. because it has been a while since i’ve seen the great ocean road, i’ve taken the day off and put on my tour-guide hat. it was a great day to be driving along the coast and practice my dutch loch ard gorge lorne hey, one fell down
rode in the ‘around the bay in a day’ yesterday. i only did the half-around-the-bay one which was still 100 km but it was more fun than i thought it would be. and besides some saddle-pain all has gone well. i might even do this again next year. thanks to kelvin and martin for riding along and providing the conversation, motivation and jubes !
