had to go to Port Macquarie for work.
a daytrip starting at 3:50 in the morning and ending at 21:30 at home..
after all the meetings we got driven around town for a look. very pleasant up there. big enough for everything to be around, small enough to have only 5 sets of traffic lights. the temperature was also a lot more pleasant than down here. reminds me a bit of warrnambool. could easily live there.

mentawai island trip 2010

went for a 2 week trip with a group of friends. absolutely blown away by the quality of surf over there. we had a great captain (scuzz from http://www.sumatransurfariis.com/ ) who knew all the spots and how to get a break by ourselves. the surf was world class quality, the boat was awesome, the food was great, the crew was funny and my mates are still mates. we did more surfing in those 2 weeks than you’d normally do in a whole year of weekend-warrior surf-trips.
