we haven’t had much luck the last couple of weeks. the banks haven’t been great and this time the tide was very low with not very clean swell. we looked at kilcunda and williamsons, then decided to have some breakfast.. looked at woolamai and because everyone was desperate for a surf walked down to magiclands and went for a paddle.. it promised nothing and delivered… (nothing). anyway had a body surf in the shore break afterwards and the water is still beautiful. the usual suspects: roh, dave, lee and tom

went for an early morning surf towards kilcunda

looked at klicunda and there was no wave to be seen

so we ended up surfing at woolies.
2 foot, clean, rainy, quiet and just pleasant.

finished the morning with a nice breakfast at the killy cafe

lower powlett rd

it was hard to find something, smurf told us that the island was no good, we looked at kilcunda (where the ‘kilcunda lobster festival’ was on) and that was pretty crappy there surf-wise so we headed to lower powlett road. it didn’t look too flash there either but we were all desperate enough to get out there.. turned out to be quite a nice surf. about 3 foot and it cleaned up nicely. roh, dave and me.

surfed kilcunda this morning with roh and dave at about 3 foot. the forecast predicted a lot of wind and rain, but it was pretty quiet, weather wise and surfer-wise. The swell had a bit of punch so it was very enjoyable on the right, and even got some on the left-hander of the same break.

on a different note, if you ever head towards kilcunda (or philip island for that matter) and feel a bit peckish, i can highly recommend dropping in at the killy-cafe. it’s just on the main strip with a view of the ocean and the food and coffee are fantastic !! they really care about the food and it’s a nice place to drop in, have something to eat, have a coffee and read the paper.

it was a bit bigger than forcast at kilcunda but still heaps of fun. not too many people out, just a bit of a shifting peak. about 4-5 foot, water still cold but there was hardly any wind. as they say ‘better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick’. lee, roh & tom. afterwards stopped at the kilcunda cafe. owners have changed and so has the coffee-quality 5

a great surf this morning at kilcunda again. only 3 foot and a strong northerly but a nice bank right out the front. a nice breakfast at the killy cafe. turning 39 isn’t that bad . roh, lee, tom. 20

surfed kilcunda on a small incoming tide. about 2-3 foot and glassy. also spotted some whales.

a bit past the cemetery we found an uncrowded bank. just 3.5 foot with 5 ft sets closing out. it turned onshore and after that the thunderstorm came rolling in. roh, lee and tom
