A Clogwog in Oz

after valencia we headed over to barcelona. using the hop-on-hop-off-bus we got to see all the sights. very nice city, but very busy and warm at this time of the year.

we decided to change the flights a bit and go to spain a bit earlier to catch up with the newly-weds. it was a great day that started by driving through the mountains in alberts mazda mx5, then we all had a look at an old maintain village, headed to the beach for a swim and ended up with dinner at the beach. all in all a great day and well worth the extra flights. thanks albert and oxana !

on friday we went to see my cousin in delft. she works for the techinical university there and took us for a small tour of the faculty of aerospace engineering with the research flight simulator and the satelite construction area. after that we had dinner in town.

today we took a drive to the north of holland to the province of friesland. the first thing that i noticed is that there are wind turbines everywhere over here ! as far as the eye can see, no matter where you are there are wind turbines.. and they look good !! they will start building wind parks offshore in the ocean soon as well.

just picked up the car for the week (a ford ka) in utrecht and we went on a little drive through the country. the weather has been great sofar. some rain every now and again, but just like melbourne : ‘if you don’t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes and it will change’

inge is over here for the world championships swimming and before it starts is doing a bit of traveling around. because it has been a while since i’ve seen the great ocean road, i’ve taken the day off and put on my tour-guide hat. it was a great day to be driving along the coast and practice my dutch
