my dad used to have a lighting store in the netherlands and every day 1 or 2 lighting reps used to drop by the store.

some are annoying, some are smooth slimey salesmen, some are funny and then there was ‘deetje’, a 100% pure ‘Amsterdammer’ no B.S., funny and larger than life. he always had heaps of stories to tell from the road, an avid Ajax supporter and one of the few reps that were invited for lunch (we lived behind the store) whenever he dropped by. he even paid his respect at my dads funeral.

it’s sad to hear that he passed away last week at 94, my mum pointed me to this little video of his time at the local TV station commentating on Ajax. it gives you a small glimpse of how he was.

just picked up the car for the week (a ford ka) in utrecht and we went on a little drive through the country. the weather has been great sofar. some rain every now and again, but just like melbourne : ‘if you don’t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes and it will change’

heel af en toe gebeurt het hier nog wel eens, dat ik de engelse naam
ontdek van iets dat ik alleen maar in het nederlands ken..

twee dagen
geleden was het buttermilk..

da's dus gewoon karnemelk. en ik heb het dus 8 jaar gemist maar nu ik weet hoe het heet heb ik het gevonden in de supermarkt mmmmm

eindelijk wat tijd om een laagje lak op m'n deck aan te brengen. de kleur van het hout komt er weer mooi uit.

ik ben nog steeds aan
het werk aan m'n vlonder.. hopenlijk is ie klaar voordat ik weer aan
het werk moet volgend jaar. op het moment is het te warm en verbrand je
binnen 15 minuten in zon.. ik hoop dat de ozon laag snel weer terug
komt.
