rosco gordon

after seeing a short segment about rosco gordon on martin scorsese's the blues, i bought his last album 'no dark in america' without having heard much of it. perhaps the best description that i can think of is is 'the male nina simone'. the album has been recorded in 2002 just before his death but is timeless, its raw and its original. sometimes the piano is out of tune, like on the hillarious 'you look bad when you're naked' but it doesn't matter. i guess what i am trying to say is that you have to have a listen if you get a chance. it beats 95% of the crap that is being played on radio at the moment.
